Network Management Policy

Crescent Bar Internet, LLC

Effective Date: March 1, 2026
Plain English Summary We don't throttle your speed, inspect your traffic, or impose data caps. We monitor our network at the aggregate level to keep it healthy and secure for everyone — and to respond to legal obligations when required.

1. Purpose

This Network Management Policy ("Policy") describes the practices Crescent Bar Internet, LLC uses to manage its network infrastructure, maintain service quality, protect against security threats, and comply with applicable legal requirements. This Policy is provided in accordance with the FCC's transparency rule (47 C.F.R. § 8.3) and the requirements of the FCC Broadband Facts label program.

2. Network Architecture

Crescent Bar Internet delivers service over the Grant County Public Utility District (GCPUD) fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network. Last-mile infrastructure is owned and maintained by GCPUD. Crescent Bar operates as an internet service provider on this network, managing customer authentication, routing, and support. Service is delivered as a best-effort connection with speeds up to the subscribed plan tier.

3. Congestion Management

Crescent Bar Internet does not currently employ any traffic throttling, traffic shaping, or bandwidth prioritization practices. All customer traffic is treated equally regardless of application, protocol, source, or destination.

We monitor aggregate network utilization to identify congestion trends. In the event that sustained congestion begins to affect service quality for customers, we will evaluate capacity upgrades as the primary response before considering any traffic management measures. If traffic management ever becomes necessary, we will update this Policy and notify customers in advance.

4. Security and Network Protection

Crescent Bar employs standard network security practices to protect the integrity of our infrastructure and our customers. These include:

We do not inspect the content of customer communications (deep packet inspection) beyond what is technically necessary to route traffic and detect active security threats.

5. Data Logging and Retention

For legal compliance and network security purposes, Crescent Bar retains connection-level logs including IP address assignments, connection timestamps, and network event data. This information is used to:

We do not log or retain the content of customer internet traffic. Logs are retained only as long as necessary for the purposes described above and in accordance with applicable law. For more information, see our Privacy Policy.

6. Application and Protocol Neutrality

Crescent Bar Internet does not block, throttle, or otherwise discriminate against any lawful internet application, service, or protocol. We do not engage in paid prioritization — no application or content provider pays us for preferential treatment on our network.

7. No Data Caps

Crescent Bar does not impose hard monthly data caps on residential service. Customers are not charged for exceeding a data threshold and their service is not automatically throttled based on data usage. See our Fair Use Policy for guidelines on reasonable use.

8. Legal Compliance

Crescent Bar will comply with lawful court orders, subpoenas, and legal process requiring the disclosure of customer records or network data. We will notify affected customers of such requests where permitted by law. We cooperate with law enforcement in investigations of illegal activity conducted over our network, consistent with our obligations under applicable federal and state law.

9. Policy Updates

This Policy may be updated at any time to reflect changes in our network practices or legal requirements. Updates will be posted at crescent-bar.com/nmp. Material changes will be communicated to customers via email where practical.
